I enjoyed the constant change of perspective in this book. I felt the friendships were realistic given that the girls had all gone in different directions. As one reviewer stated, I did think it ended abruptly but sometimes books do. I received a copy from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

A Lot of Fuss About a Duck A heady cocktail of love friendship and poolside shenanigans eBook Elise Lowe Reviews

I was not only intrigued by the book illustration but also by the title and from the description thought it should be a very good , entertaining read.I felt like the story was just an expanded outline, and while the author tried to keep it moving, the story did not flow well, laying waste to a very plausible plot. There were any number of ways the book could have gone, but it didn't seem like these women had anything in common, there wasn't any real, sustainable camaraderie between the characters, only lots of resentment and malice.Ultimately this will be a forgettable book which is unfortunate ,since it had the potential, with a well crafted story to become great find .This was an advanced read provided by Netgalley.
I expected this book to be a light read about friendships. It delivered on that, but more. The author's style of writing, skipping from one perspective to the next and letting the reader figure out for themselves things that in other books are spelled out was refreshing and fun to read. In some ways it encouraged me to engage in the story more because every word was important.

The three women the book centers around were wildly different in personality and their friendship over time stood firm and felt real. The other characters in the book felt more like bit players. They were important, but the underlying three women were the major players.

My only criticism, and it's not even a criticism but more an observation is that when the book ended, I felt like it was abrupt, but once I thought about it, I don't know how the author would do differently without changing the writing style of the book. We are given a glimpse into three lives over a period of time and when we draw back, the glimpse is done, but those lives would continue.

The name of the book is curious, as it doesn't seem to fit the book. It refers back to a tiny scene. Having said that it is entirely possible I completely missed the meaning of the duck in that scene.
To divided. Not worth reading. Not worth buying. To cut up in sessions. Too disconnected. Sloppy word ing. Won't buy another book
The story was going along fine; all of a sudden, the author just drops the story within the span of 2-3 pages.
Trio of women and their friendships and relationships. I was pretty bored reading it and didn't care for reading from each woman's perspective very much in this. Nothing was surprising. At least it wasn't repetitive.
The book was ok, but the writing seemed stilted. I did enjoy the main characters, though. However, I didn't like the ending. There were too many loose ends, and I was left hanging.
I began the book with hopes of a journey of a three friends, instead I found it a jumble of seemingly incomplete stories. I had no idea the direction of the book. I skimmed to the end and realised it ended the way it began, haphazard and directionless. Boring to say the least.
I enjoyed the constant change of perspective in this book. I felt the friendships were realistic given that the girls had all gone in different directions. As one reviewer stated, I did think it ended abruptly but sometimes books do. I received a copy from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
